Packing for Summer??

So I'm getting excited for the big trip to Aussie land coming up shortly and I asked my sister the temperature so I could pack appropriately. Well she said it's around the 90s or 100s degrees...hmmm. Good bye sweaters hello tang tops. So under the bed I dived (that's where I keep my summer clothes due to limited space in our closet)

What's cool about looking at clothes you haven't worn in a few months is that they seem almost new. This trip will be especially interesting as far as packing as I have to make sure to make room for Caden's clothes. One would think that baby summer clothes would be on sale in the stores but no all the heavy sweaters and ski jackets are..oh well.

The plane trip is around 15 to 16 hours long (from LA to Melbourne) and I've tried to think of the most creative way to carry Caden in my lap the whole time. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from my sister that if you sit in the bulk head seats ( the seats that have a wall in front of them) there are portable crips the airlines provides that attach to the wall versus the small cribs that you can try to squeeze on the floor in front of you in a regular seat. So when I picked my airline seat I thought I picked a bulk head seat. Turns out I pick the seat 2 aisles behind the bulk head...Bummer.

I got Caden's passport already...sooo cute. Surprisingly it's good for 5 years and I had the picture taken when he was 2 months old. Will they really be able to recognize a 5 year old (if he travels when he's 5) based on his 2 month old picture? oh well

This reminds me of when Sue took 1 1/2 year old Gracie with her to Barcelona via Amsterdam . . . I hope you fun!

Any tips you could recall she might have for me?

I'm assuming Andy's going, but in case he's not . . . Make sure you have a letter from him giving you permission to travel with your children out of country and also his permission to give them medical treatment . . . I know it sounds sexist, but that is how they roll in some parts of the world . . . I don't know about Down Under . . .

Sue thought they were going to take Grace away from her in Amsterdam . . .

Oh, and one more thing . . . Don't travel on 9/11 like she did . . .

Perhaps you should take Caden on a trip when he is 5 so you can find out if they recognize him! :)

I was just trying to figure out what shorts and tank tops to bring with me!!! Then I remembered how scary white my legs are!!
Juliana's passport photo is of her when she is 1yr old, now she is 6:) I will let you know how it goes. She will get a new one this summer! When are you leaving? We are leaving 1 week from today!

Have fun.. I would comment more, but I am just extremely jealous of you people that travel..Aussie land sounds so fun.. Once you get there, should be great, I had a hard time taking two kids by myself from Reno to Oregon and back.. Again, jealous.

Plucky- Andy's not traveling with me so I'll have him write that letter. I couldn't imagine if they tried to take him away! Hard to predict when terrorist are going to slam into buildings but I'll try to avoid that date as well ;)

Jeni-:)

Laura- as my sister would say. I'm snow flake colored ;) Yah let me know what the officials say about Juliana. I leave the 19th this month

Trista- well save your pennies and you can come with me next time! Good news the American $ is twice the value of the Aussie $. I'm counting on Caden sleeping most of the time. I think other passengers would need lots of prayer if I took Morgan with her energy :)
